We end each of our Faith Positive Radio podcasts by asking our guests for their favorite scripture. We get a rich diversity of answers.
One we hear repeatedly is Romans 8:28. There are a lot of us who love to be reminded that God will turn all things to the good. And those things he turns good even include our mistakes; our sins.
God’s divine mercy is a great example. You get new mercies every morning (Lamentations 3:21-22, NAB).
Ever wonder why so often? Why new mercies EVERY morning?
I don’t know about you, but I sin daily. Even at work. I need those new mercies every morning.
What about you? Ever do something at work you know is wrong?
Treat someone inconsiderately.
Too busy to help a team member begging for help.
A customer needs compassion and you just recite rules and regulations.
While they may seem small at the time, these are sins.
So, how does God turn them to the good?
Let’s say you mistreat someone at work.
Confess your sin to God. Apologize to whomever you hurt. Repent and turn toward God.
Then get ready. You are about to receive something from God you would never have experienced if you had not sinned.
Mercy. Forgiveness. Reconciliation. Loving-kindness. Healing. Redemption.
All of these are the by-products of God’s promise to turn all things—even sin—to good.
These new, daily mercies are just what you need to increase your faith, with greater joy at work, so you love God and others even more. Work Faith Positive today and watch your sin transformed into good.
